IMF warns of uncertainty around Brexit vote

The International Monetary Fund warned on 11 December 2015 of the uncertainties around the results of the referendum taking place in the United Kingdom on its EU membership.

Commenting on the report, IMF chief Christine Lagarde said she hoped, on a personal level, that the UK would remain within the European Union. Ms Lagarde highlighted the economic uncertainty triggered by the referendum, while refusing the comment on the actual political outcome of the vote.
