Public consultation identifies challenges for future Common Agricultural Policy

The European Commission published on 7 July 2017 the findings of a public consultation on modernising and simplofying the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), which received over 322,000 submissions from a wide range of stakeholders. It was launched in February 2017.

The consultation found that agricultural policy is best managed at the EU level, focusing on core issues of support for farmers and environmental protection.
