The Goods Package: Reinforcing trust in the single market

On 19 December 2017 the Commission published a Communication launching its 'Goods Package', aimed at reinforcing consumer trust in the single market. The Communication was accompanied by two reports and two legislative proposals:

+ Report on the operation of Directive (EU) 2015/1535 laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical regulations and of rules on Information Society services from 2014 to 2015 [COM(2017)788]

+ Report on the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the marketing of products [COM(2017)789]

+ Proposal for a Regulation laying down rules and procedures for compliance with and enforcement of Union harmonisation legislation on products [COM(2017)795]

+ Proposal for a Regulation on the mutual recognition of goods lawfully marketed in another Member State [COM(2017)796]
