Baltic Council meeting and signature of the Rail Baltic agreement

The president of the European Council took part in a meeting of the Baltic Council, held on 31 January 2017.

The main topics of the discussion concerned the challenges facing the European Union ahead of the informal meeting of EU leaders on 3 February. The agreement on the development of the Rail Baltic project was also signed. Up to 85% of its funding comes from the Connecting Europe Facility scheme.
