Brasil y la UE: ¿Socios en seguridad y derechos humanos? / Brazil and the EU: partnering on security and human rights?

Brasil y la Unión Europea son 'actores en transición'. A pesar de las diferentes experiencias y percepciones, hay espacio para un mayor diálogo sobre seguridad y derechos humanos. Mientras que ambos actores están redefiniendo su posición en un sistema internacional cambiante, la cooperación en cuestiones específicas es la mejor forma de construir la confianza en el terreno y en los foros multilaterales. Tanto Brasil como la UE necesitarán, cada vez más, socios fiables para avanzar sus valores e intereses en la escena mundial.

Both Brazil and the EU are ‘actors in transition’. Despite their different experiences and perceptions, there is scope for the two partners to enhance dialogue on security and human rights. As both actors redefine their position in a fluid international system, cooperation on specific issues is the best way to build confidence in the field and in multilateral settings. Both will increasingly need reliable partners to advance their values and interests on the global stage.
