Climate refugees coming to Europe, Juncker warns

During his State of the Union speech on 9 September 2015, European Commission president Jean-Claude alerted that 'climate refugees' would descend on Europe should governments not reach a new climate agreement. Mr Juncker's comments followed a similar warning from France's president François Hollande.

Paris is scheduled to host a climate conference in November 2015 (COP 21) sponsored by the United Nations, in which governments across the world should be prepared to step up the effort to reduce the impact of global warming and come to an agreement regarding a new global climate deal.
