Decision (CFSP) 2022/635 - adopted by the Council of the European Union on 13 April 2022 - introducing amendments to Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869 as regards the EU Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq).

Council Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869 established and launched a European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq). A new Decision was adopted April 2020 extending the mission for a further two years.

Following the Strategic Review of this mission, the Council's Political and Security Committee (PSC) recommended that the mandate of EUAM Iraq be amended and extended until 30 April 2024. The mission was prolonged by EU Member States following dialogue with the Iraqi Government, international partners confirming Iraq's interest and need for support.

The Council Decision was adopted on 13 April 2022 and published in the Official Journal on 19 April 2022.
