Council Decision of 22 May 2018 establishing the position to be taken on behalf of the Union regarding a proposed amendment to Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement on cooperation in specific fields outside the four freedoms.

The EEA Joint Committee aims to amend Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement to allow the EEA EFTA States (Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein) to continue to participate in Union actions related to budget line 02 04 77 03 - Preparatory Action on Defence Research, entered into the general budget of the European Union for the financial year 2018.

As Liechtenstein and Iceland did not express an interest in participating in this Preparatory Action, the Decision therefore applies only to Norway.
