Council Directive 95/50/EC applies to checks carried out by Member States on the transport of dangerous good by road in vehicles travelling in their territory or entering it from a third country.

This Directive undertakes a codification of Council Directive 95/50/EC. It supersedes the various acts incorporated in it. It fully preserves the content of the acts being codified and hence does no more than bring them together with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself. The draft law was tabled by the European Commission on 19 August 2021. The co-legislators formally endorsed it on 19 October 2022. The Act was published in the Official Journal on 24 October 2022.
