Dutch PM calls on EU to review its powers

Report of an interview Mark Rutte, the Dutch Prime Minister had with the FT and three other European newspapers, November 2012.

He said that the EU should carry out a review of its powers and consider returning some of them to its member states. The proposal to consider handing back policy areas to the EU Member States was included in the new Dutch cabinet’s governing accord on the 29 October 2012, but attracted little attention.
