EU could force Google to pay more UK tax

In January 2016 the European Commission said it would look at complaints from the Scottish National Party (SNP) and the (UK) Labour Party that Google's £130m settlement with the tax authorities in the United Kingdom announced on the 22 January 2016 amounted to special treatment.

On the 24 May 2016 French investigators raided Google’s Paris headquarters as part of a probe over tax payments.
