The EU-Cuba Joint Council met for the second time on 9 September 2019. It discussed how to maintain momentum in the implementation of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement (PDCA).

The Joint Council reviewed the structured political dialogues launched under the agreement in key areas. It also reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation programmes in different areas. Trade and investment between the European Union and Cuba were also discussed. In addition, the Joint Council touched upon regional and global issues. They also discussed coordination in multilateral fora.
