Summary: Report adopted by the plenary of the European Parliament on 23 November 2021, reviewing the European Union's sports policy and setting out potential ways forward. Further information: This Resolution favours an alignment between the EU's sporting culture and the wider values of solidarity, sustainability, inclusiveness for all, open competition, sporting merit and fairness. It also opposes breakaway competitions which are seen as undermining these principles and endangering the stability of the overall sports ecosystem. The Parliament's relevant committee adopted the report on 8 November 2021. The EP plenary endorsed it on 23 November 2021 with 597 votes to 36 and 55 abstentions. |
