Eurogroup meeting, 20 January 2020

Summary:

A meeting of the Eurogroup was held on 20 January 2020. Once again it met in its regular format as well as in its inclusive format. The agenda includes the following items:

• Presentation by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) of the main findings relating to its annual consultation on Euro area policies (Article IV interim mission);
• Discussion on the updated draft budgetary plan (DBP) of Portugal for 2020, followed by the adoption of a Statement;
• Presentation by the European Commission of its proposal for the draft recommendation on the economic policy of euro area for 2020;
• Presentation of the policy priorities of the new Spanish, Austrian and Finnish governments;
• Exchange of views on the organisation of the further work on the deepening of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU).
