Integration of migrant populations is a complex subject, but the a batch of data released by the EU’s statistics office Eurostat in October 2016 on migrants integration showed that the UK had a good story to tell and performed well amongst European countries on immigrant labour market integration and educational attainment.

The UK must emphasise this open, inclusive image in its diplomatic efforts with the EU and the wider world in order to overcome the perception that Brexit marks an introspective turn. Alex Greer takes a closer look at the data.
