Foreign Affairs Council, 16 January 2017

A meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council was held on 16 January 2017. The agenda includes the following topics:

+ Exchange of views on the outlook for the first semester of the year;

+ Analysis of the developments in Syria, including the position of the European Union regarding a full ceasefire and plans for a political transition in the country;

+ Discussion on the Middle East peace process, following the adoption of UN Security Council resolution 2334 (2016) and the Paris Conference;

+ Adoption of conclusions on Lebanon's presidential elections and the formation of a new government.
