Open Europe research published in April 2017 revealed that there was enough untapped UK trade potential to offset the possible effects of Brexit on exports to the EU. The report argued that an ambitious, outward-looking UK trade strategy could complement a deep and comprehensive deal with the EU and contribute to delivering increased UK prosperity.

This report was published in conjunction with the Prosperity UK Conference, to which Open Europe was an adviser. Prosperity UK was founded in 2017 with a vision of moving beyond the referendum and looking constructively at Britain’s future post the departure from the European Union.
