Invoking the EU’s Mutual Assistance Clause. What it says, what it means

The reaction of France to the terrorist attacks of 13 November 2015 was invoking the EU’s mutual assistance clause. All EU member states expressed their unanimous and full support. But the question about the real meaning and consequences of this remain unclear for the majority, including the politicians. This commentary tries to give answers.
