New €50 banknote starts circulating

The new €50 banknote, the fourth in the Europa series, started circulating on 4 April 2017.

This banknote includes upgraded security features, like the Europa portrait and an emerald number which is more resistant to counterfeiting.

The €50 was first unveiled in July 2016.
