Prodi calls for simplicity

COMMISSION President Romano Prodi will next week unveil a report calling for simpler EU rules and regulations. The move follows demands at last year's Lisbon summit for laws that everyone can understand. But Commission insiders say the paper will provide few answers and will merely throw open the debate on the issue in Stockholm later this month.
