Proposal for a Council Recommendation on Roma equality, inclusion and participation

Summary:

Initiative tabled by the European Commission on 7 October 2020 for a Recommendation concerning Roma equality, inclusion and participation.

Further information:

This proposal takes stock of the measures reported by Member States since 2016 under the previous relevant Council Recommendation from 2013, reviews and expands them. The purpose is to renew and replace that Recommendation, by providing stronger guidance to Member States and confirming their renewed long-term commitment to addressing the persistent problems and challenges facing the Roma community.

The proposed Recommendations was published alongside and complements the Communication on an EU Roma strategic framework for equality, inclusion and participation
