	Summary: Report presented on 5 August 2019 by the European Commission on the situation and management of the Guarantee Fund for the financial year 2018. Further information: Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 480/2009 established a Guarantee Fund for external actions in order to repay the Union’s creditors in the event of default by beneficiaries of loans granted or guaranteed by the European Union. Article 8 of the Regulation requires the Commission to report on the situation of the Fund and the management of the Fund for each financial year. This report, together with the accompanying Commission Staff Working Document (SWD), provides this information.
