This publication explores the various types of funds that have been set up across Europe and examines their advantages and drawbacks. Taking their inspiration from the Copenhagen Declaration’s call for closer partnerships in training, sectoral training funds are managed by employers and employees and financed by training levies or taxes. Sectoral funds are intended to mobilise additional resources for continuing training and to target the needs of specific sectors.
