Summary: Reports, analyses and information relating to the trade dispute brought by the European Union (EU) to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) against Colombia over anti-dumping measures imposed by the country on frozen fries from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Further information: The European Commission announced on 15 November 2019 it was launching the first step of the dispute settlement in the framework of the World Trade Organisation, which consists of a 60-day long consultation. This period would allow both sides the opportunity to find a negotiated solution to the dispute. If the consultations did not result in a satisfactory solution, the EU would be able to request that the WTO set up a panel to rule on the issues raisd. The EU claims that the challenged measures are inconsistent with numerous provisions of the Anti-Dumping Agreement and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) 1994. |
