Video conference of agriculture and fisheries ministers, 16 November 2020

Summary:

EU Ministers responsible for matters relating to agriculture and fisheries (AGRIFSH) held a videoconference on 16 November 2020. The agenda included the following items:

• Briefing by the European Commission and the Council Presidency on progress made within the European Union on tackling food losses and food waste;
• Briefing by the Danish delegation on the state of play in relation mink and COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Denmark;
• Briefing by Czech and Polish delegations on the request that the European Commission brings forward further coordination in combating African swine fever and for a reduction of the associated administrative burden;
• Briefing by the European Commission on the outcome of the Farm to Fork (F2F) conference;
• Briefing by the UN Special Envoy for the UN Food Systems Summit, in support to a background note prepared by the Council Presidency;
• Exchange of views on the market situation of different sectors in agriculture.
