Website: Register of Expert Groups, and other similar entities

The Register has been set up by the European Commission to give an overview of the consultative entities that help it in relation to:

+ the preparation of legislative proposals and policy initiatives (Commission's right of initiative)
+ the preparation of delegated acts
+ the implementation of existing EU legislation, programmes and policies, including coordination and cooperation with member countries and stakeholders in that regard.

The Register lists both Commission expert groups and other similar entities, i.e. consultative groups which were not set up by the Commission, but which have a similar or identical role to a Commission expert group and are administered and financially managed by the Commission.

For each group, the register provides standard information such as the Commission department running the group, as well as the group's mission, tasks and membership.
