23rd EU – Japan Summit, 29 May 2015

The 23rd bilateral summit between Japan and the European Union took place on 29 May 2015. The EU was represented by the European Council and European Commission presidents, while Japan's delegation was headed by the country's prime minister. The agenda included the following topics:

+ Discussion on the political and economic relations between Japan and the European Union, including the negotiations regarding a strategic partnership agreement and a free trade agreement;

+ Discussion on regional and foreign policy issues;

+ Discussion on global challenges, including climate change, environment and the fight against terrorism.
