Adoption of conclusions on digitalisation of transport

The conclusions underline the importance of this issue for the European economy and competitiveness, and confirm the European Union's ambition to become a global leader in this area. They propose the elimination of the obstacles to acquiring a seamless and more effective multimodal transport system in Europe.

The Commission was invited to develop a comprehensive digitalisation strategy for the transport sector in the first quarter of 2019.

These conclusions were approved at a meeting of the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council.

The Council of the European Union adopted on 5 December 2017 a set of conclusions on the digitialisation of the transport sector.
