The aim of this guidance is to help both hirers of agency workers and the recruitment sector to understand the Agency Workers Regulations and the implications and responsiblities for both hirers and temporary work agencies. Each section covers the key provisions of the Regulations and includes illustrative examples.

The legislation will come into force on 1 October 2011, giving agency workers the entitlement to the same employment and working conditions as if they had been recruited directly, if and when they complete a qualifying period of 12 weeks in the same job. Document reference: URN 11/905.
