Agriculture and Fisheries Council, 27-28 June 2016

A meeting of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council was held on 27-28 June 2016, in Luxembourg. The agenda included the following items:

+ Update on the market developments in the main agricultural sectors and debate to assess the measures to help farmers which had been agreed in September 2015 and March 2016;

+ State of play of the negotiations between the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament on organic farming;

+ Presentation by the European Commission of its communication on a consultation regarding fishing opportunities for 2017;

+ Adoption of the general approach on a proposed regulation on the sustainable management of external fishing fleets;

+ Adoption of conclusions on food losses and food waste, forest law enforcement, governance and trade;

+ Other topics: VAT rules on vouchers.
