Athens shuns outside help with debt crisis

Greece said on the 8 April 2010 that it did not need to seek financial help from the European Union and International Monetary Fund to address its escalating debt crisis, in spite of a jump in yields on its sovereign bonds and a sell-off on the Athens stock exchange.
