Article reports that the German government has failed to find a national buyer for a stake in EADS, forcing it to extend a deal made in 2007 for three years, which gives a group of banks a 7.5% stake in the defence company Daimler.

Berlin brokered the arrangement after Daimler, the German carmaker, sought to cut its stake in EADS because it no longer views the business as core.
