Brussels battles against return of borders

Report of the discussions on migratiion / immigration issues at the Justice and Home Affairs Council, Brussels, 12 May 2011.

EU interior ministers agreed on a need to amend laws governing the visa-free Schengen area, to take into account large surges in migration. Consensus could pave the way for temporary internal border controls.
