Brussels steps up efforts on pension reform

Article previews and reports on the first meeting of a European Commission 'Commissioner's Group on Pensions', Brussels, 11 June 2010. The group's mandate was to 'focus on adequacy as well as long-term sustainability' of pensions within the European Union. A Green Paper on Pension Reform was due to be adopted by the European Commission at the beginning of July 2010.

The article also reports on a Interim EPC / SPC joint Report on Pensions, May 2010 and a set of Conclusions adopted by the Council of the European Union on pensions on the 8 June 2010.
