Report of meeting between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron in Berlin on the 18 November 2011.

Mrs Merkel agreed to consider 'constructively' proposals made by David Cameron, including the scrapping of some European Union labour laws, as part of any treaty change talks.

In exchange, the UK prime minister was said to have agreed to give a fair wind to Germany’s plan for a swift and limited treaty change to reinforce budgetary discipline within the eurozone.
