Commission brings together religious leaders to discuss migration, integration and European values

On 26 November 2016, first Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans hosted the 12th annual high-level meeting with religious leaders from across Europe to discuss Migration, integration and European values.

The discussions varied from the challenges posed by populism and intolerance to the crucial role of education and grassroots outreach in enhancing integration and social cohesion in Europe. The leaders agreed to liaise with the European Commission to make sure European values are embraced in the context of migration and integration.
