Conclusions on enlargement and stabilisation and association process

Summary:

The Council of the European Union adopted on 26 June 2018 a set of conclusions on the EU's enlargement policy and stabilisation and association process.

These conclusions were endorsed by the European Council on 28 June.

The document reaffirms the EU's commitment to the enlargement process and to the Western Balkans' EU pathway. The Council agreed to respond positively to the progress made by FYR Macedonia and Albania and set out the path towards opening accession negotiations with both countries in June 2019.
