Conclusions on EU Action Plan for nature, people and the economy

Background and further information:

This set of conclusions was adopted by EU environment ministers at an Environment Council meeting held on 19 June 2017.

The Action Plan takes into account, among other, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the United Nations General Assembly at its 70th session in September 2015, as well as the key objectives of the EUropean Union's seventh Environment Action Programme.

The Plan consists of 15 actions to be carried out by 2019 to rapidly improve the implementation of the Birds and Habitats Directives, which are the EU's flagship nature policies.

The Council of the European Union adopted on 19 June 2017 a set of conclusions regarding the EU Action Plan for nature, people and the economy.
