Background and further information: The UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn aims to follow up on the implementation of the Paris Climate Change Agreement and encourage the acceleration of a development model based on sustainability, resilience and climate safety. The conclusions adopted by the Council of the European Union serve as a mandate for the EU's negotiators on the financing aspects of climate change. The adoption took place during a meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council. The Council of the European Union adopted a set of conclusions on 10 October 2017 setting out the EU position on climate change, ahead of the conference of parties to the UN climate change convention (UNFCCC). |
