Council authorises signature of Economic Partnership Agreement with Southern African Development Community (SADC)

The Council of the European Union authorised on 1 June 2016 the signature and provisional application of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the European Union and the South African Development Community (SADC). This group comprises Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Swaziland.

The proposal was put forward in January 2016.
