Centre-right parties in the Czech Republic began negotiations over forming a coalition government after an unexpectedly strong result in the parliamentary elections held on 28-29 May 2010.

EurActiv reported on the 14 July 2010 that a new Czech government, led by Petr Nečas, was appointed on the 13 July 2010 after a month of difficult coalition talks. EurActiv reported that analysts warned of recurrent Euroscepticism in the new government.
