Austria's chancellor Werner Faymann invited leaders of ten member states of the European Union to attend a meeting with Turkey's prime minister Ahmet Davutoğlu on 18 February 2016, in Brussels.

Brussels was set to host a European Council summit on 18-19 February 2016, and Mr Davutoğlu was scheduled to follow-up on mutual commitments to a deal to stem the flow of refugees to Europe, coupled with a 'reenergising' of EU-Turkey relations.

A similar meeting took place in the margins of the European Council summit on 17 December 2015.
