Deal reached on EU economic governance laws

After a long period of difficult negotiations between the EU Institutions, a deal was reached on six new laws on the 15 September 2011 (the so-called Six Pack) designed to keep eurozone member states' budgets in check and to prevent a repetition of the current debt crisis.
