During the autumn of 2017 the Donbas was seeing a coup within a coup, as two of the leading separatists turned on each other. Commentary feature.

On the 24 November 2017 Igor Kornet, the head of the People’s Republic of Luhansk (LNR) security structures and 'Minister of the Interior' said that he was taking over power from Igor Plotnitsky, the 'President' of the LNR, who had said days earlier that he was facing an attempted armed coup to force him out.
