Article reported that the Danish government opened negotiations in August 2011 with political parties to reform the support package for the country’s troubled banking sector.

Brian Mikkelsen, the Minister of Economic and Business Affairs, said on the 12 August 2011 that the government wanted to improve trust in and financing for the Danish banking sector, where a number of small lenders were blighted by non-performing loans to the property and agricultural sectors.
