Dutch MPs take lead to weaken EU prosecutor plans

EUObserver reported on the 1 July 2014 that Dutch MPs were spearheading national efforts to weaken the European Commission proposal to set up an EU-wide public prosecutor (EPPO).

The MP leading the operation of finding allies across the EU, Ard van der Steur from the liberal VVD party, stated that the EPPO should only be seen as an overseer.
