The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organised a conference on 10 April 2014 on the possibilities to introduce the Universal Basical Income (UBI) at the EU level.

Speakers were unanimous – an unconditional basic income was a 'realistic' proposal, even more at a EU level than from a national perspective.
