Employers want further reforms to liberalize Spain’s labor market

The draconian overhaul of the laws governing Spain’s labour market introduced by the Popular Party (PP) government of Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy in February 2012 making it cheaper and easier to sack workers does not go far enough, according to the country’s leading employer group.

According to sources at the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), one of the main concerns of employers remains the problems encountered in pushing so-called labor force adjustment plans (EREs) through the courts.
