End of roaming charges in the European Union

Background:

The end of roaming charges in the European Union was the result of legislative changes which occurred for a decade.Roaming charges no longer applied in the European Union as of 15 June 2017. Citizens travelling within the EU became able to call, text and connect on their mobile devices at the same price as they pay at home.

The three institutions of the European Union released a joint statement to highlight what was regarded as one of the most tangible successes of the European project yet.
