Article reports that Turkey’s prime minister Reçep Tayyip Erdogan is dismissing half his party’s parliamentary deputies for the June 2011 general election, aiming to rejuvenate the party as he seeks a third term in power. Mr Erdogan nominated only 146 deputies out of the 333 now holding parliamentary seats for the ruling Justice & Development (AK) party to stand again in the polls, according to lists submitted for registration on the 11 April 2011. |
